THE RIVER RETREAT

SELF-CATERING COTTAGES

Each of our cottages sleeps four in two bedrooms, one room with a queen bed and another room with 2 single beds. (Exceptions can be made for families with three children where we can supply a stretcher with a mattress.) Each unit has a bathroom with a shower and a separate toilet. Linen and towels are provided. The kitchen is well-equipped with all the basic necessities making for a convenient and comfortable stay. This includes an electric fridge-freezer and gas stove with oven.

The open-plan living area opens up onto an outdoor dining deck with large glass windows and sliding doors offering views of nature, inside and out. The cottages are completely off-grid being powered by the sun and water heated by gas. Our water comes from a mountain spring on the farm and is naturally coloured by the geology and fynbos vegetation. For those cold and rainy days, there is a wood-burning fireplace in the lounge to keep you warm and cosy. (A complimentary bundle of seasoned firewood is provided.)

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

There is no reception or Wifi at the cottages.

Fire poses a serious threat to the fynbos so unfortunately no braais or outdoor fires are permitted.

The solar system is limited and is designed to only power the fridge-freezer, lights and plugs to charge phones and laptops.

Regrettably no pets allowed.

The weather in the mountains can get wild and is unpredictable. Please come prepared with suitable clothing and ready to embrace the elements.
